CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) was established in 1995 and there are now over 1.9million cardholders.

In November 2014, the Construction Leadership Council announced that from January 2015, the industry should specify and promote cards schemes carrying the CSCS logo, with no equivalents accepted.

CSCS cards provide a means to verify that people who want to work on construction sites, or in the Construction Sector, have the necessary training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out.

Most major contractors and homebuilders require workers on their sites to hold a valid CSCS card as a demonstration of their commitment to safe and efficient working. It is important that you hold the right CSCS card for the work you undertake. You can check which type of card you should have here

To apply as a Skilled Worker you need to have achieved a construction related NVQ or SVQ level 2 or have completed an employer sponsored apprenticeship which included the achievement of City and Guilds of London Institute Craft Certificate. It is essential that you are able to produce the relevant certificates and documents to prove the requirements. No documentation – you need the NVQ.

You can apply for the Experienced Worker card when signed up for the NVQ so you can still access site for 12 months

All applicants must pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environmental test.

The PDA has secured co-funding to help those who need the NVQ Qualification. You will not be required to leave the workplace as the achievement is through OSAT (On-Site Assessment and Training).

Prices are for those in Nottinghamshire and the surrounding counties. There will be an additional charges for those outside the catchment area. Please contact Michael Dodd for additional information on extra charges.

There are a limited number of spaces and you must register your interest by 30th June, e-mail:danielle@paintingdecoratingassociation.co.uk

If you would like to speak with the provider then the contact is Michael Dodd, 07805 787857.
