LEYLAND TRADE BECOMES OFFICIAL PARTNER OF THE PDC
Colourful paint brand Leyland Trade is arrowing for a big year in 2016 after signing a partnership deal with the Professional Darts Corporation.
The partnership agreement confirms Leyland Trade as an Official Partner of the PDC for the next two years, building on the company’s long-standing association with one of the UK’s most popular sports.
More than 250,000 live spectators attend PDC events every year, and the Leyland brand will be displayed on set signage at all the UK and Ireland televised events.
The PDC’s promotional literature, press advertisements, posters and publicity material will all help to deliver information about Leyland’s outstanding paint products to one of the largest and fastest-growing audiences in UK sport, and Leyland will provide its customers with exclusive opportunities to meet top players and attend the biggest darts events.
In addition to this, Leyland has further strengthened its association with the sport by announcing that it has renewed its sponsorship of three of the world’s top players again this year.
The 2008 World Champion Mark Webster, Simon Whitlock, and world number one Michael van Gerwen will all proudly wear the Leyland logo on their shirts during competitions in 2016.
Van Gerwen won the PDC World Championship in 2014 and was a semi-finalist in 2015. At this year’s competition, he recorded the highest average score of any losing player in the event’s history as he was narrowly defeated in the third round by Raymond van Barneveld.
Whitlock and Webster are ranked 18th and 26th in the world, respectively, and all three Leyland-sponsored players will be amongst the favourites at some of this year’s top events.
Leyland Trade marketing manager, Tim Wood, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the PDC, and this promises to be the biggest year yet in terms of Leyland’s association with darts.
“Being an official partner of the game’s leading professional body and sponsoring three of its top players – including the world number one Michael van Gerwen – makes everyone at Leyland extremely proud.
“We’re looking forward to seeing Leyland customers old and new at this year’s top darts events, where we’ll be cheering on Mark, Simon and Michael.”
