Lessons in project management – a lifetime’s experience

Alan Reade BSc CEng FICE FConsE FFB

A civil engineering graduate from Leeds University, Alan spent 20 years with Tarmac Construction culminating in being head of Tarmac's regional design/build operations and five regional offices recruiting and employing 40 architects, structural, civil and M & E engineers, quantity surveyors, building technicians and project managers.

Since 1984 Alan has run his own firm of consultant engineers; in 1998 Alan set up Reade Buray Associates (RBA) with Surinder Buray; the two directors having 70 years combined practice and experience in the West Midlands. Alan is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Association of Consulting Engineers and a Fellow of the Faculty of Building.

RBA provides engineers reports for house, office buildings, factories, warehouses and civil engineering structures, detailed survey, analysis and structural design of foundations, underpinning, raft or piled bases, vibroflotation, plant foundations, retaining walls, feasibility studies and big project management.
